Since my first gap year after high school, I have been methodically cultivating a life abroad. Since my first high school Careers class, I've been elevating my passion for baking and the culinary arts. Since my first day of overnight camp in the Canadian wilds, I've been honing my appreciation for the great outdoors. And since I first picked up a book, words have been everything.
As of July 13, 2025, I have visited 19 countries. I don't know if you'll think that's a lot, but to me it feels like I've only scratched the surface. There is so much to do and see out there, if this website accomplishes anything, I hope it inspires you to go out and explore the world for yourself.
But I can't deny that travelling is hard. Truly travelling, with your life in a single suitcase and a constant state of exposure, can be soul-sucking. It's why some people hate it, it's why some people do it in the first place. Because no matter how tough it gets, there's nothing quite like it. To throw yourself into another culture, and to share connections with strangers, is a beautiful thing.
During my bad days, I take things slow. My travel journal is the thing I read when I'm lonely, meditation and yoga are what help me breath, and music is my lifeline. My own personal wellness kit. Something that comes into use a lot on the road, but also something that I think everyone should have. Life can be tough, you need to find the things that make time pass easier.
When those aren't enough, my passions become my outlets. My love for cooking is something that I never want to lose; it's why I don't work in restaurants anymore, it's also why food is the one thing I can't seem to put a budget on. And camping centres me; it's been the plot of my summers since I was 7 and I don't think I would be the person I am today without it.
All of these things encompass who I am. But, if you really want to get to know me, I'd love to sit down for a chat.
